Walks starts on the S/W coast path then moves inland mainly on paths and woodland culminating in Hooe lake which has some historical links to Francis  Drake ,

The walk starts with a climb up the coast path with a fair few steps . The walk from Bovisand is up a gradual incline  -Staddiscombe way could be muddy in January. Hooe Lake area is on paths andthere is a short bit of road on way back 

Walk approximately 6.5 miles 

Dogs welcome though coastal path narrow in parts so may need lead for a time . 

Debrief at the Royal Oak , Hooe Lake on the way back before Jennycliff Lane .
